The British High Commission, PRIO Cyprus Centre and AIPFE Cyprus - Women of Europe are organising an evening of 3 short films about Hope: The story of the Northern Ireland Good Friday Agreement 20 years on, and the positive possibilities that the peace agreement opened up for local communities.
The film entitled, "Saying Yes", explores the story of the YES campaign which played such a defining role in the vote for change in Northern Ireland.
"Hope of the Border" explores the impact of the 1998 referendum on the border communities between Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland and the positive possibilities that the "yes" vote opened up.
"54 Towns" recreates the journeys across Northern Ireland made by the YES campaigns ad-vans in the final run up to the vote in May 1998.
The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion including speakers involved in the production of the films and the original YES campaign, and a drinks reception.
